“I’m 18 days away from my wedding. What can I do to look my best?”

Hey Beautiful!

I responded to an awesome question on Facebook and I wanted to share my answer on my blog, too, so that you could benefit from it for all the days into the future. 🙂

The question was, “I’m 18 days away from my wedding, what can I do to look my best?”

I love this question so much because I’m getting married August 6th and I’m a Holistic Nutritionist who helps women who are super-ready to go for their health, body, energy levels and dreams. I took myself from exhausted to marathon-running, and on the way, found a body I’m so proud to dress in white very soon! 🙂

Because you’re 18 days away, you’d mostly want to de-bloat, but not change your bod, since your dress is perfectly fitted. Here are the big 4 suggestions for mind-body-love-eyeballs balance (this guy –> ??)

1. Get gluten out of your diet to look and feel your best on your wedding day:

Even if it’s just for the 7 days before. You’ll notice mega-de-bloating and a flatter tummy. This is my favourite gluten-free bread (there’s this version or the orange one, usually found in the freezer section, sometimes fresh)

2. Get dairy out of your diet to look and feel your best on your wedding day:

You’ll double the results by doing both 1 and 2 together as you would with just gluten. For recipe suggestions that are dairy-free, I have a major food and recipe crush on Angela from Oh She Glows 🙂

3. Find an awesome juicery or if you have a juicer, make use of it to look and feel your best on your wedding day:

Have an organic juice per day. Vegetable is awesome, but if there’s a bit of fruit in there and that means you’ll drink it, go for it. I’m talking cold-pressed, super anti-inflammatory, organic juice. This will also help take redness out of the skin. Drink lots of water the days that you do this, you don’t want to overload/detox, you just want to boost 🙂

4. Meditate to look and feel your best on your wedding day:

Even if you do a session as you’re falling asleep. Your sleep quality will be better, you’ll be less stressed and you’ll train focus and calm for your big day. The best advice I’ve received so far is that the bride sets the tone of the day, and every guest feeds off her. Which means it’s a really exciting time to make sure you can be at your best and radiate excitement, passion, gratitude and dancey-love. 🙂 Here are some meditations I’d recommend: Deepak Chopra’s free daily sample meditation, my free, downloadable meditation to help you go from chaos to appreciation, David McGraw’s Ultimate Weight Loss hypnosis (one of my favourites), Jason Stephenson’s guided sleep meditations (or any of his, love them, too!).

As a go-getter bonus (5. if you will 🙂 ) start skin brushing to look and feel your best on your wedding day:

Start at your ankles with a dry skin brush (firm bristles), and always brush up towards your heart. This helps move your lymph, which can reduce cellulite. When you get to your heart, brush from your wrists to your shoulders. Here’s a demo I did on a live workshop.

Lastly, beyond anything else, find moments to enjoy. Go out for dinner, have a glass of sparkling, refer to him as your fiance a fun bunch of last times, and feel the magic grow and excite as you near your big day.

So in quick recap (I know you’re busy! 🙂 ) :
1. Go gluten-free for at least 7 days before your wedding.
2. Go dairy-free for those same days.
3. Drink a cold-pressed, organic juice each day + lots of water
4. Meditate
Bonus 5. Skin brush
Bonus 6. Enjoy, call him or her your fiance for a while longer, it’s getting to be your last change. 🙂
You’re astounding! Go rock it 🙂
